Indie Lens Pop-Up Screening: “I Am Not Your Negro”, EUA, Terça, 09. Janeiro 2018

Filmmaker Raoul Peck uses author James Baldwin’s original words, spoken by Samuel L. Jackson, to bring to life a book Baldwin never finished.

"I Am Not Your Negro," which was nominated for a 2016 Academy Award for best documentary, was to be a revolutionary, personal account of the lives and successive assassinations of three of his close friends — Medgar Evers, Malcolm X and Martin Luther King Jr.

The resulting film is a radical examination of race in America, connecting the past of the Civil Rights Movement to the present of #BlackLivesMatter.

The film will debut Jan. 15 on Panhandle PBS and online Jan. 16.
